The 1-Year Master of Science in Biomedical Studies program at Iowa State University is a non-thesis MS program designed to open up opportunities for students planning to find a career in the biotech/pharma industry, continue on to a PhD, or enter professional programs such as medical, dental, and osteopathic schools. Many of their successful graduates have gone on to attend professional programs at institutions such as The University Iowa’s Carver College of Medicine, the University of Minnesota’s School of Dentistry, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Graduate students have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and learning spaces.  In addition, they have the opportunity to work with world-renowned faculty whose research interests range from molecular neurotoxicology, to pediatric immunology, to targets for antiparasitic drugs.
