Rush University Graduate College Open House

The Rush University Graduate College Open House will be taking place Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM and will be held in the Cohn Research Building’s 1st floor Auditorium at 1735 Harrison St. Chicago, IL.

Attendees will be learning about specific programs of the Graduate College of Rush University including:

  1. The PhD in Integrated Biomedical Sciences Program designed to prepare students to be outstanding research scientists qualified for positions in academia, industry or administration. This program provides the students with an interdisciplinary approach that focuses on disease as a process that involves molecular, biochemical, cellular, and organ system changes. Students use multidisciplinary training to formulate and test research hypotheses in a highly collaborative environment of both scientists and clinical researchers. The program requires completion of core coursework in the basic sciences and elective classes based on the student’s selected research track and areas of interest as well as the completion of the dissertation research work.
  2. The MS in Integrated Biomedical Sciences Program is a two year program designed to prepare graduate students for a scientific career in academic, industrial, or governmental environments through training in relevant interdisciplinary research and didactic education. The program requires completion of core coursework in the basic sciences and elective classed based on the student’s selected research track and areas of interest as well as the completion of the thesis research work.
  3. The MS in Biotechnology Program is a non-thesis, nine-month accelerated program crafted for students to become highly proficient and competitive candidates for positions in biomedical scientific fields and applicants for professional academic programs, including medical, dental, pharmacy doctoral programs and entry to competitive PhD programs. The curriculum includes core biomedical science classes, laboratory practice, and other relevant subjects, such as experimental design, laboratory management communications, scientific writing, and biomedical research strategies.
