The Illinois State Geological Survey (ISGS) is pleased to announce the second airborne demonstration for the Mahomet Aquifer mapping project at the Frasca Field Airport (1402 Airport Rd, Urbana, IL 61802) on January 26 at 11:00am. During this event, SkyTEM will provide a presentation and demonstration of their airborne surveying technology, helicopter time domain electromagnetics (HTEM), to map the geology of parts of Ford, Iroquois, and Vermilion counties. The survey will be conducted by a helicopter flying at an altitude of 30-40 m and a speed of 70-110 km/h. This event marks the beginning of the second phase of the Mahomet Aquifer mapping project, which includes flight lines depicted in the figure below.
