On November 21st, 2022, the Illinois States Geological Survey (ISGS) will hold a demonstration of a survey, which will take place over the next few weeks in Champaign County using a helicopter carrying an electromagnetic sensor. The demonstration will take place at the Frasca Field Airport (1402 Airport Rd, Urbana, IL 61802), in Urbana Illinois.
Reporters, legislatures and the public are invited to view the aircraft and equipment that will survey the Mahomet aquifer within the jurisdiction of Champaign County. ISGS scientists and a crew from SkyTEM, will be onsite to describe the airborne geophysical instrumentation and the overall project objectives, and answer questions.
