In this paper, Eliza Bettinger, Meryl Bursic, and Adam Chandler argue that academic libraries should embrace a new vision for staffing: one that places the safety of scholars and students at the center, where librarians are trusted consultants on navigating digital risks, and each library is a node in a network of institutions working together for equitable free inquiry.
