Habitat

IMG_4064Hummingbirds are found only on the American continents. Most of the species are concentrated in the tropics of Central and South America. In the Monteverde Cloud Forest, the hummingbirds occupy different niches. The hummingbirds’ differences in physical characteristics allow them to hardly overlap in living space. Certain birds will also live at varying elevations; depending on which flowers they feed from most frequently. Cloud forests and rain forests are suitable homes to hummingbirds due to yearlong warm temperatures and diverse flowering plants.
