The Dual Credit Learning Accelerator, jointly hosted by the Office of Online Learning and Undergraduate Admissions, is an initiative that aims to provide high-quality academic opportunities for prospective Illinois public high school students interested in pursuing four-year degrees.
The program will help prepare under-served student populations for college and connect them with the university by offering unique dual credit courses in general education areas that are often unavailable at many tier 1 and tier 2 Illinois public high schools.
The classes offered via the Learning Accelerator to qualifying districts, designed by Illinois faculty from our college partners and taught by certified high school teachers, will be completely free for interested students during the pilot. Schools can either choose to deliver courses with their own qualified instructor in collaboration with Illinois faculty or join a consortium with Illinois Virtual Schools & Academy. Illinois Virtual Schools & Academy offers a number of additional resources and opportunities for K-12 schools in Illinois, including teacher shortage solutions and support for virtual learning facilitator for fully only classrooms.

Plans to increase the scale and reach of this program are already in the works, so make sure to fill out the interest form to get involved!
University Faculty & Staff: If you’re interested in offering courses through the Learning Accelerator, please read through our course selection guide before continuing.
