Any ABA-accredited law school may enter one team, comprised of two or three students. A second team may be waitlisted, with the goal of having 50 teams compete. Each team will argue in at least two preliminary rounds on alternating sides. Sixteen teams will advance beyond the preliminary rounds.
We are eligible to send up to two teams to the Practice Regional in Chicago, regardless of the number of teams are accepted into the national competition.

* Location each day of competition will be as follows: St. John’s University School of Law campus in Queens on Saturday and Sunday, and at the Courthouse for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn on Monday.
Meals / Events
- Lunch on Saturday, 3/1/25 and Sunday, 3/2/25 for competitors and coaches

- Lunch on Monday, 3/3/25 for teams that have advanced
- Admission to the Gala Reception on Monday, 3/3/25 for all competitors. (Coaches can purchase tickets at a discounted rate.)
Awards
The American Bankruptcy Institute Endowment Fund will present the following awards to the winners:
- $5,000 to 1st-place team
- $3,000 to 2nd-place team
- $1,500 to TWO 3rd-place teams
- $1,000 for Best Oralist
- $1,000 for Best Brief
