I am Professor of Linguistics, with a zero-time appointment in Philosophy.

My main research interest is in formal semantic theory for natural language. More particularly, my recent work has focussed on relative truth, the expression of perspective, and semantic compositionality. Much of my earlier work was on “event-based” semantic theories, the semantics of plural and coordinate constructions, and pragmatic vagueness.

Aside from my main focus in formal semantics, I also have broader interests in logic, pragmatics, mathematical linguistics, and the philosophy of language.
