Isela Silvera is a third-year PhD student in the Department of Linguistics at UIUC, advised by Tania Ionin and James Yoon. She received her B.A. in Linguistics from the University of Chicago in 2020 and her M.A. from UIUC in 2024. Her M.A. research on Korean reflexives has been presented at the Chicago Linguistic Society and the Japanese/Korean Linguistic Conference; her current research centers on the L2 acquisition of Korean causatives and passives by English native speakers.
