ORMS Tomorrow mini poster competition awardPhD students of the Kontou research group received 2 out of the 3 awards of the INFORMS OR/MS Tomorrow PhD-level mini poster competition! Denissa Purba received the 1st place award by presenting her UIUC research on alternative fuel vehicles evacuation planning and Xi Cheng received the honorable mention recognition for his research work conducted as a MSc student at UC Berkeley. Denissa at INFORMS and as a mentor for UIUC URAP

Congratulations to PhD student, Denissa Purba, who will present our paper on Alternative Fuel Vehicles Evacuation Planning at INFORMS this November! She was also selected to participate as a graduate mentor at the Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP) of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign! Through this program, Denissa will get the opportunity to inspire undergraduate students to conduct research in sustainable transportation systems.
