Getting here
Champaign-Urbana is located on Interstates 72, 74, and 57; 135 miles south of Chicago, Illinois; 180 miles northeast of St. Louis, Missouri; and 120 miles west of Indianapolis, Indiana.

There are charter bus services from all major airports: Chicago O’Hare, Chicago Midway, Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Peoria. Options include: Peoria Charter Coach (from O’Hare to Illinois Terminal or to ISR; Illinois Street Residence Halls) and Greyhound (from Chicago Bus Station to Intermodal Transportation Center). AMTRAK service is also available if you would like to take a train to Champaign.
The Champaign Willard Airport (CMI) offers daily flights through American Airlines.
Within Urbana-Champaign, MTD operates the bus system. Fare is $1 per ride, including any transfers. Download the app Token Transit from Google Play or App Store to electronically purchase and use your ticket.

For your convenience, we have blocked a number of rooms at a discounted JK33 rate at a couple of hotels, which are near UIUC’s campus. You must book the reservation yourself, but please refer to the instructions below in order to receive the discounted rate. As only a limited number of rooms are available at each hotel, we recommend booking a room as soon as possible. Unreserved rooms will be released for general sale at higher prices after the posted cut-off dates.

- Yugo Guest Suites – Yugo Guest Suites is situated in Urbana, just a short walk from the main campus of the University of Illinois. It offers apartment-style accommodation with a shared lounge and free WiFi as well as free private parking.
- Hotel Royer – This historic hotel with modern amenities is less than a mile from the University of Illinois. It is adjacent to Lincoln Square Mall with artisan shops and restaurants. Krannert Center, Spurlock Museum, State Farm Center, Meadowbrook Park and Riggs Beer Company are all within four miles. It also offers an indoor pool, fitness center and restaurant. A bus service is available for transportation.
- Hampton Inn at U of I – This hotel is located about a 10-minute walk from campus. Also, a free campus bus service is available for transportation.
