Jaewook Lee

Jaewook Lee is presently an Ph. D candidate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the School of Architecture. His research focus is on daylight and its impact on the building design process and human health under the supervision of Prof. Boubekri. His recent work is mainly focused on the development of new daylight metrics for human health and well-being based on the relationships between characteristics of daylight and health indicators.

Jaewook’s professional experience includes work as a design manager at Hyundai Engineering & Construction, where he helped to lead residential building drawing and construction. He has an Master of Science in Civil Engineering from KAIST and BA in Architecture from Hongik University.

In the last few years, he has also had extensive opportunities to collaborate with researchers from other departments and universities on a National Institutes of Health (NIH) project regarding classroom quality during early childhood as a mechanism linking health and education, investigating the roles of daylighting and sleep.
