Non-degree registration for the Summer 2023 semester is now closed. Requests to enroll will not be processed until after April 20. 

Enrollment will close two weeks before the first day of class.

Instructions to enroll for the Summer semester: 

Review the list of available courses listed below.
Our non-degree course options change every semester.  
Submit a Request to Enroll Form.
Completing this form does not enroll you into a course. 
Your request will be approved or denied.
It may take up to 5 business days to learn the status of your request.
If your request to enroll is approved, you will be emailed that instructions about how to officially enroll.
Enrollment is managed by CITL, who handles all non-degree course enrollment for the university.
Follow the instructions for enrollment sent by CITL.
Once completed, CITL will confirm your enrollment and bill you. 1 week before your course begins, you will receive a welcome email from the iSchool with course website access.

Summer 2023 Non-Degree Courses

All non-degree classes are online, unless otherwise noted. All times are listed in CST. You can find more information about these courses by searching UIUC Course Explorer.

To begin the registration process, fill out the Request to Enroll Form stating your interest. This is not the same as class registration and does not guarantee a spot in your desired classes.

Summer courses are offered as either 4, 8, or 12 week sessions. View the Academic Calendar for Summer 2023 at this link.
Some courses are offered as Variable Credit, with some students in the class registered for 2 credit hours and others registered for 4. Students in those courses must specify their credit amount when registering with CITL.
Online courses are synchronous (unless otherwise specified) and require students to log in and participate at a specific time each week, plus completing weekly reading and homework.
