Tech Tip of The Week: Easily Opening a Link in a New Tab

While some links may automatically open in a new tab, why risk it? This week’s Tech Tip is on how to easily ensure a link opens in a new tab instead of creating a new window or removing you from the current page you’re on.

You can hold down the control key on Windows or the command key on Macs while clicking on a link to open that link in a new tab.

Additionally, if you are using a mouse you can click on a link with the scroll wheel to open the link in a new tab!

If for some reason these methods do not work for you or for a certain link, you can always right-click on a link to bring up a menu which will include the option to “Open link in new tab”.
