Google search can be an immensely helpful tool in our daily lives, and there are some ways we can take advantage of the full capabilities of the search engine.
- Putting a search phrase with quotation marks will fetch results for the entire phrase, not just the individual words
- If you do not know the exact phrase you want to search for you can use asterisks within the quotation marks as placeholders for unknown words
- You can use a hyphen before a term to exclude that term from the search results
- If you want to search a specific site you can use site:example.com in addition to your search terms
- If you want to find a site that has cited or linked another specific site you can add link:example.com to your search terms
