Meet Aradhya!

Hi everyone, my name is Aradhya Seth, and I’m a final semester student in the Information Management Master’s program. As an iSchool ambassador for the past four semesters, it has been an honor to represent the iSchool and the University of Illinois. As I prepare to exit the program, I will definitely miss the campus, the events, and the people that made my time here so memorable.

Applying for Jobs

As I start to apply for jobs in the technical domain, I am both excited and nervous about entering the workforce. While I have started applying for jobs, I plan on starting with sincere efforts next month. Thankfully, I have only taken one course this semester, which has allowed me more time to apply for jobs and attend networking events.

Recently, there have been layoffs at some of the biggest tech companies, which has been a little concerning. I have been talking with professionals in the field to gain a better understanding of the job market and what companies are looking for. It has been eye-opening to hear their perspectives on the current state of the industry and what skills are in high demand.

In addition to networking, I have been working on honing my resume to stand out to potential employers. I have been utilizing the resources available to me, such as the iSchool’s Career Services, to receive feedback and advice on my resume. It’s important to make sure that my resume accurately represents my skills and experiences, and that it is tailored to the specific job I am applying for.

My Future

Lastly, as I prepare to enter the workforce, I am trying to make the best decision for myself and my career goals. While it’s important to find a job that pays well, I also want to make sure that I am happy and fulfilled in my career. I am looking for a job that will challenge me and allow me to grow both personally and professionally. It’s important to keep an open mind and consider different opportunities, even if they may not seem like a perfect fit at first.

In conclusion, as I prepare to exit the program and enter the workforce, I am preparing for the opportunities that lie ahead. While it can be nerve-wracking, I am taking steps to ensure that I am prepared and that I make the best decision for my career goals. I will miss the iSchool and the student town of Urbana-Champaign very much!
