Balancing College, Job Applications, and Networking: Navigating the Job Market in Information Management

Hi everyone! It’s me, Aradhya Seth, back again with an update on my final semester journey in the Information Management master’s program at the University of Illinois. The past month has been filled with job applications, and I’ve been spending most of my time tweaking my resume to make sure it accurately represents my skills and experiences. Additionally, I’ve been trying to expand my network by connecting with more people on LinkedIn. It’s been a great way to learn about their experiences and how they navigated the job market during these challenging times.

I’ve also been following the journeys of people who have successfully landed jobs in the industry to gain insights into what companies are looking for. Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a couple of interviews, and it was a nice experience to get a better understanding of what the industry demands.

Managing college, part-time work, and job applications have been a little challenging, but it’s an experience of its own kind. To avoid burnout, I took a break during the spring break and went to the Smokey Mountains and Nashville. It was a refreshing change of scenery and helped me come back feeling recharged and ready to take on whatever comes my way.

As I navigate this transition period, I’m keeping an open mind and trying to make the best decision for myself and my career goals.

In conclusion, the past month has been busy and challenging as I juggle between college, job applications, and part-time work. I’ve been spending a lot of time tweaking my resume and networking with people on LinkedIn to increase my chances of getting hired. I’ve also been learning from the experiences of others who have successfully navigated through the current job market turmoil. Despite the challenges, I managed to take a break during spring break and visited the beautiful Smokey Mountains and Nashville to rejuvenate myself. I’m grateful for the opportunities that have come my way, including the chance to interview and gain insights into what the industry demands.
