ABOUT

The Department of Kinesiology and Community Health at University of Illinois is happy to offer The Illinois Physical Activity and Life Skills (iPALS) Wellness Program in collaboration with Champaign Unit 4 Schools.

iPALS is a free summer learning and enrichment program for children attending elementary school in Champaign’s Unit 4 school district. Located at Garden Hills Academy, the Program specifically targets youth who are enrolled in the free and reduced school lunch program. IPALS will run for four weeks (June 3rd-June 28th, 2024) from 8:00am-1pm Monday-Friday.

During each day of the Program, participants will rotate through various stations guided by an innovative conceptual framework highlighting: (a) social and emotional learning, (b) physical activity, (c) academic enrichment, and (d) nutrition education.
