Recently, we hosted a class of second graders from Barkstall Elementary School to visit our innovation spaces and try out our technology. It was a great time for everyone!
During Summer 2019, CITL’s Innovation Spaces have been happy to host many guests from universities around the world who are interested in using technology to enhance learning. This Summer, CITL team members gave a talk on virtual reality capabilities at the Faculty Summer Institute in the iHotel. They were joined by Andrew Wilson, a University High School teacher who is using Virtual Reality to engage his history students.

VR Lab representatives offered an Immersive Media mini course during Uni High School Agora days.
Beginning in the Spring of 2019 CITL’s VR Lab partnered with ATLAS to experiment with providing 20 Oculus GO headsets to support Beginning and Intermediate French courses. French students visit the Innovation Studio to use the headsets to experience Mondly and Wander to explore the potential of these technologies to support immersive language learning.

CITL’s VR Lab participated in the conference imaginarium session that provided a space for 375 conference attendees to experience a place where their minds can expand and soar, where innovation, curiosity, and creativity are encouraged and where learning and problem solving can occur.

Professor Brakke brought his architecture students to tour the TechHub and VR Lab as part of this studio course called Museum of Future Pasts. His students are working on a cultural center that incorporates tradional notions of a museum program, but also new media with technologies like VR and AR.
