Kimmy Chuang is an undergraduate student majoring in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences as well as Political Science to explore how our political institutions and policies can enhance ecosystem services to improve human relationships with nature. In the van Riper lab, she has assisted with the Kaskaskia Watershed project in identifying benefits and threats of agro-ecosystem services across spatial scales. Her future career goals are to practice environmental law that emphasizes sustainability and preserves natural resources for generations to come. She looks forward to working on social-ecological problems in Denali National Park and feels extremely grateful for all that she has learned so far.
