Information for Networking Fair Partners

  • Registration: Each representative should complete a registration form by July 1: https://go.illinois.edu/2026Registration. Make sure to put your company/institute/organization name when asked for your affiliation.
  • Parking: Illini Union parking spots are reserved for off-campus partners. Please discuss this with Britt Carlson (cbcarls2@illinois.edu) to ensure parking spots are available for your group.
  • Check-in: Please use the special area for partners. This is located at the north entrance of the Illini Union. If you are affiliated with the University of Illinois, please bring your i-Card with you to make checking in go faster.
    • Note: There will be three adjacent check-in areas at the north entrance. One table will be same-day (non-registered) visitors, another will be for employer partners, and the third is for other registered visitors. Non-employer networking fair partners should check-in at the same place as other registered visitors.
  • Networking Fair Guidelines:
    • Please make sure devices are charged, as electrical hook-ups are not provided. Email Britt Carlson at cbcarls2@illinois.edu if this is a concern.
    • Tables are 6ft long with two chairs provided.
    • There will be a diverse group of attendees at the fair including high school students and educators, parents, community college students and educators, undergraduate researchers, graduate student and postdoc mentors, and faculty mentors. Keep this in mind when you are considering which materials to bring to the event. You are encouraged to bring information about career, internship, and scholarship opportunities, but there will also be substantial interest in learning more about what your organization or business does, what it looks like to be a scientist or engineer in your field, pathways to and supports for STEM careers, and what students can do now to set themselves up for success.
    • The event attendance has been about 600 people in recent years. Participation in the Networking Fair itself has not been tracked separately – it is likely lower because research mentors or collaborators often choose to only attend the student presentations and not the rest of the event.
    • You can find more information about this part of the event on the Networking Fair page.
  • The Event: You are very welcome to attend all parts of the event. We encourage you to attend the opening keynote speaker presentation, student research presentations, and the closing networking celebration and dessert. Our students would love to connect with you throughout the day!
