Chez Center for Wounded Veterans has a mission to “provide a range of support services to empower student veterans with disabilities to realize their potential through a world-class educational experience that prepares them to lead fulfilling, meaningful and maximally independent lives”. They offer a multitude of services like transition and academic ones for student veterans, including a specialized first-year course, note-taking and tutoring, and different testing and academic accommodations. Peer mentoring is available as well to have a connection. Benefits and outreach services help student veterans understand various national bills and what they’re entitled to. The list of services continues with health and life skills, career and employment, counseling and family, Veteran Affairs assistance, residential life, and research.

Veterans Care

Veterans Care Program is a program designed to provide comprehensive, affordable healthcare to Illinois’ uninsured veterans. The Veterans Care Program covers those veterans who have the least access to reliable healthcare. These are the veterans who cannot currently access Veterans Health Administration’s benefits and who meet specific income requirements. One must be aged 19-64. Services can include hospital care, doctor services, alcohol and substance abuse services, home healthcare, mental health services, and much more. Veterans can apply through the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs office or call 877-483-8779 if calling from within Illinois.
