FIRST “SOLO” SHOW #003

I was extremely nervous about my first show of the semester. I wanted a perfect, smooth sailing show but if there’s one thing that I have learned it is that there is no such thing. Some segments that I was missing show week was an Illinois Story and Shot Clock. Two big segments that would have filled the show nicely. BUT I had a lot of help from volunteers. We had a men’s basketball package from Jared Farmer, a wrestling package and VOSOT from Peyton Wesner, a Women’s basketball VO, and a Club Hockey package from Nathan DeHaan . So the show turned out to be just fine. And super producer Jake helped me with whatever I needed so shout out to him.

The studio had great morale on the night of filming. When we filmed the hosts, Tristen Kissack and Patrick Catezone, I thought that they were in a more comfortable place this week. They seemed a little more themselves and Patrick seemed to do (a little) better with his pronunciations. I also experienced photoshop for the first time this week. That was…an adventure, but the graphics looked pretty good on the show if I do say so myself. I enjoyed the new addition of video graphics we had to the show for final thoughts, so shoutout to Ken Erdey for being creative with those.

Despite the stress and tiny bit of frustration that I had throughout the week (only because I’m a perfectionist), I thought everyone who contributed to the show did their best to help me and that’s all I could ask for. I can’t wait to grow with the show and see where it takes me and everyone else involved.
