When you’ve finished reading through the zoos take some time to consider the following questions:
- Does location seem to lead to differences in the zoos?
- Some states do not have well known zoos or zoos in general. Why do you think that is?
- What differences can you find between the zoos?
- What similarities do you see within the zoos?
- Do all offer the same type of internships?
- Which zoos provide the best experiences regarding volunteering and internships? (This is important if you are interested in volunteering or interning at a zoo.)
- Do you think that certain locations would provide better experiences in relation to what career you want to pursue?
- Which zoos provide the best standard of care for their animals?
- What organizations do these zoo work with to aid in the care of the species that they house?
- Do you think that social media presence impacts how you think about certain zoos? Is a larger social media presence better?
