Elijah Davis presents his latest findings at APHA 2025

Elijah presenting his findings in a Children’s Environmental Health session at APHA 2025.

This past November, Elijah Davis attended the Annual Meeting of the American Public Health Association to share his latest research on climate change knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and vulnerabilities among family-based childcare homes (FCCH) in Illinois.

In his presentation, Elijah highlighted recent survey findings on climate attitudes. He found that, while climate change risks are among the most significant climate risks acknowledged by FCCH providers, the majority of FCCH providers in our survey did not think climate change was a risk to themselves or the children in their care. He also compared these results to his recent work adapting a Climate Vulnerability Index for the state in which he found that census tracts with FCCHs are more vulnerable to climate risks compared to other parts of the state.
