Prospective Students

I am always inspired by the many students who reach out with interest in the Clinical-Community Psychology PhD program and in the Health Equity and Action Lab. Each year, our lab receives 150–200 formal PhD applications and over 300 additional inquiries by email from thoughtful and motivated students who share a passion for advancing mental health equity. I truly value the time and care that students put into reaching out and expressing their interest.

Because of this very high level of interest, I’m unfortunately not able to meet individually with everyone or review materials in advance. To keep the process fair and equitable, I encourage all applicants to follow the official application instructions on the Department of Psychology’s website.

If you’d like to get a better sense of our lab’s work and training approach, I invite you to explore these resources:

My students and I are deeply committed to research that is collaborative, community-engaged, and culturally responsive. I welcome applicants who are excited to contribute to this mission while also developing their own independent ideas and career paths. I truly look forward to learning more about you through the application process, and I wish you the very best as you prepare your materials.
