My Undergraduate Involvement Experience

As an undergraduate, I was fortunate to be a part of various organizations. From social, academic, and honor societies at UIUC. Most importantly, being part of UIUC’s Child Life Association has impacted my academic and professional ventures. From starting as a member and eventually reaching the role as a Service Coordinator, and now serving as the president, I had the chance to lead and transition the organization from having in-person meetings and events to a virtual setting. Through my CLA participation, I have developed interpersonal and leadership skills that will follow me into my career interest of becoming a director of a non-profit organization. I learned to effectively communicate amongst a team while also becoming more confident and comfortable in a leading position to deliver tasks and roles. Consequently, it has also influenced my determination and drive to accomplish my current internship assignments, serving the Champaign community and research role working with a professor at the University.
