My Internship Experience with Crisis Nursery

I had the opportunity to intern at Crisis Nursery during the Fall 2020 semester. Crisis Nursery is a 24-hour emergency based childcare center that creates an “Island of Safety” for families in the community. I was afraid that COVID-19 would interfere with my experience, but my time at the center was enriching and impactful. I worked closely with my supervisor to complete projects and provide resources to the families of the center. My main goal was to help Crisis Nursery transition to virtual events and procedures through their social media accounts. The children were so kind and caring regardless of their difficult living situations. I would recommend another student to intern at Crisis Nursery because they are a valuable resource to the community.

Andrea is an HDFS senior with a concentration in family studies and aspires to become a child psychologist.
