ALA on Twitter and Flickr

ALA still goes on, but GSLIS IT (Help Desk and ITD) are in Champaign Urbana to keep the show running and prepare for the upcoming LEEP Boot Camp! Several of us did make it (and some are probably at McCormick Place as I type this entry up) and got to meet the likes of Neil Gaiman or for those more interested in books for a younger crowd, Mo Willems (my kindergarten teacher mother was very excited and is sure that her kindergarteners will be nothing short of amazed at how she was able to meet authors of books such as Yes Day!).

For those of you unable to attend or those curious about attendee reactions, Library Journal has an article on Twitter posts with the #ala2009 tag. See what they picked in their article of most interesting tweets here.

Edit:

NPR got in on the ALA fun with their coverage of the Book Cart Drill Teams in their Pop Culture Section. They even have a video of the winning performance of Oak Park Public Library.
