GeoReL is a newly developed facility at University of Illinois that focuses on research to solve problems and advance expertise on heat transfer related geotechnical engineering issues especially on renewable energy resources and climate change in cold regions.

About PI

Dr. Tugce Baser is an assistant professor of Geotechnical Engineering group at CEE. Her research interests include analytical and numerical modeling of heat transfer through porous media, coupled behavior of glacial tills, modeling of shallow geothermal systems and energy geostructures, and utilization of cavity expansion theory. She holds a PhD degree from UC San Diego.
