This is a new research group that advances the understanding of justice dimensions in rural sustainability, as well as the positive and negative effects of projects in agriculture and environmental services on rural communities. We conduct applied research, collaborate with local organizations, engage in interdisciplinary work and use qualitative and quantitative methods from the social sciences. Focus areas include rural women’s empowerment, and the interaction between social dimensions and the implementation of environmentally sustainable practices in agriculture.
