AI in Wealth Management & Financial Planning

Artificial Intelligence in Wealth Management & Financial Planning is a course at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The course will showcase artificial intelligence and machine learning in the worlds of wealth management and financial planning. Students will learn alongside financial advisers and wealth managers. The course will have conversations and students will utilize AI tools to develop investment portfolios and streamline the client service experience.

Throughout the course, students will:

  • Differentiate between traditional online search tools and artificial intelligence/machine learning driven tools.
  • Dive into the ethical implications of AI through regulatory and certification lenses.
  • Describe artificial intelligence and machine learning in the context of wealth management and financial planning.
  • Develop a model client service practice that incorporates AI tools.
  • Create, analyze, and criticize financial planning documents, estate planning documents and investment portfolios utilizing AI tools.
