Last week while visiting the University of Chile, Prof. Fahnestock delivered several lectures in Santiago. On September 30 he presented two seminars, “Seismic Behavior and Design of Buckling-Restrained Braced Frames” and “Seismic Behavior and Design of Steel Plate Shear Walls,” as part of the program “Seismic Design of Steel Buildings” sponsored by the Chilean Association on Seismology and Earthquake Engineering. On October 1, he presented a research seminar “Reserve Capacity and Seismic Collapse Prevention for Braced Frames in Moderate Seismic Regions” in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Chile.

Fahnestock Lectures in Montreal
While in Montreal for the Fall 2014 semester, Prof. Larry Fahnestock is giving several lectures locally. On October 28 he presented “Seismic Design and Performance of Coupled Steel Plate Shear Walls” at Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal. On December 3 he will present “Reserve Capacity and Seismic Collapse Prevention for Braced Frames in Moderate Seismic Regions” at McGill University and on December 10 he will present “Self-Centering Buckling Restrained Brace Development and Application for Seismic Design” at Concordia University.
