Metaphor

I wanted my metaphor to also relate to my life and personal experience as well as my journey throughout this class. My journey throughout this class can be compared to learning how to do makeup.

I started wearing makeup freshman year of high school, and I enjoy being able to express my creative side with something I enjoy doing. I was never just naturally good at makeup. I put on makeup and try different techniques and different makeup looks almost everyday. I learned there is no right way to write because there are so many different styles of writing. In comparison to my journey through this class, I had to show up to class everyday and give my undivided attention. Learning more about grammar and rhetorical devices and techniques has furthered my credibility as a writer. Just as I have payed attention to lecture and took the time to improve my writing, I watch various makeup youtube gurus to improve the way I do my makeup. Time and effort isn’t an option when wanting to improve, whether doing makeup or writing.  Both doing makeup and improving my writing require significant attention and effort. Both allow me to enjoy what I do, while dedicating myself and my time.
