Reflection on Essay II

Before I revised my annotated bibliography, I carefully read through Professor Hays’ comments on my final draft. Although I did revise my child’s draft after the workshop, my annotated bibliography still had some minor errors. The most significant change I made to my annotated bibliography was my wording and sentence structure. Because my wording was way too close to the original,  I summarized my sources more instead of using statistics and exact wording from the scholarly sources. Because I later learned about the issue of plagiarism and its role in writing and research, I was able to see why I had to summarize my sources and not just use the same wording in the scholarly sources. I also cut out unnecessary wording that didn’t further change or improve the meanings of sentences. I made my writing more concise, and it was easier to understand. My annotated bibliography helped me organize my sources for my research paper. It allowed me to more easily write my research paper and write about a different intersections with my research topic. My research paper was about the media and its negative effect on body image and self-esteem. I gained more of an insight on the contemporary issue, and my research on the intersecting topics furthered my interest to write a more informative research paper.
