tyehimba jess in residence:
Next week Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Tyehimba Jess comes to campus for a virtual residency, part of the ongoing Year of Creative Writers series, presented by the Humanities Search Institute, the Creative Writing Program, and the English Department. Jess is the author of Leadbelly, winner of the National Poetry Series, and Olio, celebrated winner of the 2017 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry.

You’re invited to two public events featuring Tyehimba Jess next week. Follow the links to the HRI website for more information and registration. These events will be free and open to the public.

A virtual career exploration and networking event with students from the School of Labor & Employment Relations will be held on 14 April, 2021 (Wednesday) from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Topics include: social life, classes, recruitment for internships and full-time employment, and “What is HR?”

2021-2022 las scholarship application open:

To be eligible for an LAS Scholarship, you must be a continuing undergraduate student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Illinois, planning to continue full-time enrollment in the 2021-22 academic year (students graduating in December 2021 may still apply). Additional eligibility criteria is listed for each scholarship in the application.
