Agenda & Presentations

Agenda

We recommend that everyone open the Whova web interface, sign in, and explore the agenda before the conference begins.
  • The “Agenda” link at the left will open a new page on which you can toggle between “Full Agenda” and “My Agenda.”

  • Individual talks within a session are listed under “subsessions.” You can view information about each talk by clicking on “View details.”
  • From the “Full Agenda,” under each session or talk, you can “Add to My Agenda”, which will compile your own personalized “My Agenda” of talks you wish to attend.
  • The Full Agenda includes two talk tacks and can be filtered by clicking on “Filter by tracks.”

About Presentations

The agenda in Whova includes links to all presentations.
  • Talks will be hosted as Zoom Webinars or Meetings.
  • You will be able to see and hear the speakers, but you won’t be able to share your video or unmute your microphone.
  • You will be able to participate by adding comments and questions in the Whova chat box or the Whova Q&A. See the Asking Questions Section on this page.
  • While we will do our best to stay on schedule in order to facilitate the ability to jump between tracks, note that it is likely that the times of talks may slightly differ from the prescheduled time, just like at an in-person meeting.
  • We will also try to record live talks and post the recordings on the session pages afterwards. Talks will only be recorded with the permission of the speaker.
  • The Whova conference site on the mobile app will persist for 6 months after the meeting; any recorded content or uploaded supplementary material will remain viewable during this time. After that, please visit the ECEC archive pages.

Viewing Presentations

  • Talks can be joined through the Whova Web App zoom plug in so that you do not leave the Whova site or you can click on the Zoom link to watch the presentation in zoom.
  • Note that there is also a “subsession” page for each talk, which has its own Q&A and chat box that only apply to that talk.
  • To navigate back to the session from a subsession page, click “Show Agenda” in the upper left and then select the appropriate session from the Agenda list, as in the example screenshots below.
  • After a session, the Whova Q&A box in the subsession page (specific to an individual talk) can be used to leave questions for speakers to answer later. The author will hopefully answer your question when they can. Alternatively, a direct message can be sent through Whova.

Asking Questions

  • You can ask questions during a session by typing them into the Q&A box on the right side of the page for the individual talk.
  • The session moderators will monitor the Whova Q&A box only and relay the questions to the speakers as time allows.
  • Within the Q&A box on Whova, questions can be “up-voted” by other attendees in the session. If time is limited, the moderators may choose the questions with the most votes first.
  • For the 15 minute talks, there will be about 3 minutes for questions. For Keynote presentations and invited speakers, there will be about 5-10 minutes for questions.

Viewing the Posters

The posters are accessible from the posters tab in the Whova app menu. Poster numbers identify where to find the poster presenter in the Illinois Ballroom at the I Hotel and Conference Center. Poster presenters who wish to share their poster will have an PDF version uploaded to their poster description in Whova.
