The Call for Abstracts is Open and will close on January 16, 2026. The ECEC26 conference committee will send notifications of acceptance by January 31, 2026.
Abstracts are requested on all aspects of emerging contaminants in the environment, including research, public health, policy, management, outreach, and education. Topics could be on their detection, fate, transport, effects, remediation, prevention, or other related subjects. The conference will include sessions on:

- Agricultural Chemicals
- Algal toxins
- Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
- Pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) (including naturally occurring hormones)
- Plastics and microplastics (including microplastic fibers)
- Other emerging contaminants
Presentation Requirements and Types
All presentations must be presented live and in-person. However, given the current travel climate in the United States, speakers whose travel originates outside of the United States can obtain permission to present virtually. Permission to present virtually must be requested in writing via email to the conference committee and granted at least 2 weeks prior to the conference.

- Oral presentation: 15 minutes total (12 minutes for presenting and 3 minutes for questions). Presentations must be in 16:9 format (widescreen).
- If you’ve accepted an invitation through one of our chaired sessions, please submit your talk through the oral presentation abstract submission form.
- Poster presentation: Posters must be 4 feet square or smaller (48×48 inches).
- Oral presentation: 15 minutes total (12 minutes for presenting and 3 minutes for questions). Presentations must be in 16:9 format (widescreen).

Registration and travel expenses are separate from your acceptance to present at the conference.
