Presenter Information

All presentations must be presented live and in-person. However, given the current travel climate in the United States, speakers whose travel originates outside of the United States can obtain permission to present virtually. Permission to present virtually must be requested in writing via email to the conference committee and granted at least 2 weeks prior to the conference.

Don’t forget to register! Registration and travel costs are separate from being accepted to present at the conference.

About the talks

Oral Presentations

    • Total length of 15 minutes including time for questions
    • Recommend about 12 minutes of talk and 3 minutes for questions
    • You may use the presentation format of your choice. Keep in mind that the podium computer will be Windows operating system.
    • Presentation slides should be at 16:9 widescreen resolution.
    • Save presentation slides as LastName_FirstName (e.g., Doe_John.pptx, Smith_Jane.pdf).
    • All presenters must upload a copy of their slides to the ECEC26 box folder to be able to display your slides on the podium computer at the I Hotel and Illinois Conference Center.
    • Please consider limiting the amount of general background information provided in your presentation, as other presenters may be covering the same topic. Feel free to use your time to present background information that is specifically relevant to your presentation.
    • Practice your presentation! Make sure it is within the time limit. Because we have a tight schedule, you will be cut off if still talking after 15 minutes.
    • If there is time for questions, questions from the audience will be asked using the microphones in the room and also through the Zoom Q&A function.  Moderators will alternate between in person an virtual questions as time allows.
    • All presentations will be recorded. Only presentations that the speakers give permission to share will be shared online.

Poster Presentations

    • Posters must be 4 feet square or smaller (48×48 inches).
    • The poster session will be in the afternoon on April 28, 2026.
    • You must bring a physical copy of your poster to the conference. We will not be able to print your poster for you.
    • Poster set up time is during the 7:30-8:30 am check-in and breakfast time on April 28, 2026. Check-in at registration to get your poster number.
    • Posters will be taped to the walls of the conference room using tape supplied by the conference center. Make many small rolls of tape all over the back of your poster to prevent posters from falling off the walls.
    • You are welcome to leave your poster up through the remainder of the conference after the poster session.
    • If you wish to share a digital copy of your poster publicly, please upload a PDF of your poster to ECEC26 box folder for posters saved as LastName_FirstName (e.g., Smith_Jane.pdf).
