The 2023 Emerging Contaminants in the Environment Conference (ECEC23) was on April 18-19, 2023. ECEC23 was a hybrid conference, with the in-person portion held at the I Hotel and Conference Center, Champaign, IL.
The conference featured traditional 15 minute presentations and a poster session on the latest in emerging contaminant research, policies, and outreach in the soil, water, and air. In addition, there was plenty of opportunities for discussion and networking with those interested in all aspects of emerging contaminants in the environment.
Researchers, educators, businesses, government officials, regulatory agencies, policy makers, outreach and extension professionals, environmental groups, members of the general public, and medical, veterinary, and public health professionals were encouraged to submit abstracts and attend the conference.
The Emerging Contaminants in the Environment Conference, co-hosted by the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center and Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant, has been held annually since 2016. ECEC23 was a certified green event by the University of Illinois’ Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment.
