The 2026 Emerging Contaminants in the Environment Conference (ECEC26) will be on April 28-29, 2026. ECEC26 will be a hybrid conference with the in person portion at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, IL.
There will be no conference in 2025 as the conference committee reevaluates the hybrid conference platform to bring you the best of both in person and virtual offerings in 2026.
The conference will feature traditional 15-minute presentations and poster sessions on the latest in emerging contaminant research, policies, and outreach in the soil, water, and air. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities for discussion and networking with those interested in all aspects of emerging contaminants in the environment.
Researchers, educators, businesses, government officials, regulatory agencies, policymakers, outreach and extension professionals, environmental groups, members of the general public, and medical, veterinary, and public health professionals are encouraged to submit abstracts and attend the conference.
The Emerging Contaminants in the Environment Conference, co-hosted by the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center and Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant, has been held annually since 2016. ECEC26 will be a certified green event by the University of Illinois’ Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment.
