Welcome to the Dr. Mike Ellis Lab website!  The Ellis Lab is focused on swine production sciences, which allows students to study a broad range of topics, including nutrition, swine management practices, reproduction, genetics, and transportation, amongst other areas.

Being focused on production sciences has helped to foster unique relationships some of the major companies working in the swine industry.  This group has developed a close working relationship with The Maschhoffs, the third largest pork production company within the US.  In addition to working with The Maschhoffs, Ellis Lab graduate students have also worked on projects funded through Elanco, Pfizer, the National Pork Board, along with several other sponsors.  These collaborations have helped students to create a network of contacts within the swine industry, and provided valuable hands-on experience for those members of the Ellis Lab.
