Judging Information

For judges

Presentations can be accessed by searching the student’s name in the blog tab or by selecting the chemistry subdiscipline tab then clicking on the student’s name.  This will take you to a post including the abstract, virtual presentation, and text transcript.

Judging assignments were sent out via email.  If you have not received your assignments, please reach out to conference co-chairs Rebecca Ulrich and Selena Hernandez.

Please use attached rubrics as reference to score assigned presentations.  Please score students from 1-5 on each of the 4 sections (delivery, content, visual appeal, and clarity of presentation).  Additionally, please also ask at least one question of the student using the comment feature to stimulate conversation and model the dialogue that would occur at an in-person conference.  Students have been asked to check their presentations at least once a day to respond to any questions or comments.  Once presentations have been evaluated, please fill out this short form to upload scores and constructive feedback (oral presentations; poster presentations).  Students have the option to receive their scores and comments from judges so please provide kind and constructive feedback for students to learn and grow from this opportunity.

Rubrics for reference: 2020 Judging Form–Oral presentations; 2020 Judging Form–Posters

Judging forms are due by Saturday, November 21st at 11:59pm.

For students

Please check your presentation at least once a day for comments or questions.  Since we can’t have a live conference, we hope that the comment section can allow meaningful dialogue and questions between student presenters, attendees, and judges.  Once judges’ scores have been submitted and tabulated, we will contact award winners via email and announce winners on our main website (eciacs.org/conference) and on this platform.  We hope to announce winners by Tuesday, November 24th and mail out certificates and awards shortly thereafter.  Additionally, all students can receive copies of their scores and feedback/comments by emailing conference co-chairs Rebecca Ulrich and Selena Hernandez after award winners are announced.

Any questions regarding judging can be sent to conference co-chairs Rebecca Ulrich (rulrich2 (at) illinois.edu) or Selena Hernandez (selena3 (at) illinois.edu)
