The Colonial American History Lecture Series

The Colonial American History Lecture Series is a collaboration among the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Illinois, the Newberry Library, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign department of history. We hold two or three lectures annually at the Newberry. Our lectures are free and open to the public and regularly draw audiences numbering in the hundreds. Our goal is to highlight cutting edge historical work by leading scholars in the field of early American history, and particularly the colonial period.

The lecture series was founded in 2016 and is supported by the generosity of the members of the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Illinois. For information about the series please contact Bob Morrissey.
