About Us

The Dancing Illini is a registered student organization at UIUC focusing on social ballroom dance. We are a non-competitive group that focuses onĀ teaching and learning social dances, while making new friends, going to dance events, and generally being social while dancing.

Course Information

Beginner and Intermediate Social Ballroom DancesĀ typically include: Nightclub Two-Step, Salsa, Cha Cha, Swing, and Waltz

Bonus Dances are subject to change every semester

Previous Bonus Dances taught include: Bachata, Cumbia, Kizomba, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Rumba, Contra, Blues, West Coast swing, Rumba, Rueda, V. Waltz, and Hustle.

Fall and Spring Courses (10-12 weeks)

Regular semester courses typically include two times for beginner social ballroom dance and one time for intermediate social ballroom dance as well as a variety of additional dances for beginners and intermediate dancers.

Summer Courses (7-9 weeks)

Summer semester courses typically include two times for beginner social ballroom dance and a variety of additional dances for beginner dancers.
