Q: What is the coolest thing you’ve done?
A: Hands-down the best thing that I’ve done is researching penguins at the Brookfield Zoo with my mentor Dr. Lance Miller.
In summary, I tried to get the penguins to be more active in their environments by putting cool toys and rafts in the water. I even created a research poster and presented it in my school’s research symposium.
It was a lot of blood, sweat and tears but it all paid off when I won best research project and got honored as district scholar, one of the top 5 students in the entire district!
That’s not all! As a reward, I got to eat lunch with the district superintendent at John Hancock!
Q: What’s you favorite food?
A: White rice. I can eat it straight from the rice cooker.
Q: Favorite sport?

A: Why, yes I do! I play the clarinet. I also miss my high school band!
Q: What clubs are you in at Illinois?
A: Teachers for Creatures, a club that spreads awareness on animal welfare issues such as pitbull breed discrimination, and puppy mills. Adopt, don’t shop! Pre-vet club, Companion Animals Club and the Illinois Wildlife Conservation Club.

A: Of course I do! I currently have two dogs, Xerox and Mya. They’re from the shelter. Remember, adopt, don’t shop! 🙂
Q: What was you high school superlative?
