Megan is a third year doctoral student in the History Department. Her current research examines late nineteenth and early twentieth century Japanese migration from a global and comparative lens.  Particularly, her project explores how the Japanese transpacific diaspora negotiated and shaped their identity through the framework of global capitalism, race, gender and settler colonial expansion in the United States, Australia, and Japan.
