Isamar Mata is a University of Illinois student majoring in Global Studies with a minor in Arabic. Having discovered her passion for the Arabic language in high school, she has since had the opportunity to study in Morocco and Jordan, and she will be participating in an Arabic immersion program in Jerusalem for the next academic year through the FLAS Fellowship of the Center for Global Studies. Isamar is looking forward to using these experiences in the future, seeking work related to conflict resolution and migration issues.
