International Studies Fellowships

At the discretion of the selection committee, the Center for Global Studies offers International Studies Fellowships for applicants coming from outside the Champaign-Urbana area.  If selected, fellows are provided up to 7 nights of paid housing and up to 8 days of paid parking. If awarded, participants will be notified in their acceptance letter.

Research Honorarium

As part of the application, participants are expected to turn in a research or program plan. This can be in the form of a draft or current syllabus; an abstract and white paper; a library collection development abstract; or a draft plan for a new international education program. All participants are expected to build on this plan and produce a completed product or substantial draft for the Centers. These materials will be published in our institutional repository, IDEALS. A $1,000 honorarium is available, contingent upon receipt of these materials by August 21, 2020. This honorarium can be used to offset travel expenses and support the implementation of participant’s projects.

**Due to the end of our grant cycle, all materials must be submitted no later than August 21, 2020. Any materials submitted after this date will not be eligible for the honorarium.

Payments

The research honorarium will be transferred once your required materials are received and approved. Please allow approximately 6 weeks for all payments to transfer.
