The Urbana-Champaign campus prides itself on its recycling efforts all around campus. You’re never too far from a bin! “BIN IT” with the Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment (iSEE) today and get entered to win some great prizes!
Here’s how it works:
- Bring as many recyclables as you can collect to Anniversary Plaza (the brick part) on the Main Quad in front of the Illini Union.
- Count ’em up! You’ll earn a prize entry for your first item, and then an additional prize entry for every 5 recyclable items after that one.
- Put your ticket(s) in a drawing for a sweet solar-powered speaker, a gift card to your favorite restaurant, or other cool prizes.
- Winners will be announced at 4:30pm at the Campus Sustainability Celebration.
Location & Time
You can find us on Anniversary Plaza, the brick patio right in front of the Illini Union building on the Quad side from 10am to 3pm.
Accepted Items
What counts as one item?
- a single #1 or #2 plastic bottle (These are more than just soda bottles; you should turn over milk jugs and soap bottles to check their number!)
- a single soda can
- a paperboard box (like from cereal or pasta)
- a corrugated cardboard box (like shipping boxes)
- paper will be measured by weight. Each pound is one “item.”
